- Why should I shop at yradier?
- By shopping at yradier, you are supporting emerging Australian talent in many forms. Our emphasis is on sourcing the best in emerging Australian design – be it accessories, homewares, clothing or jewelry. All original artworks sold on yradier are created by emerging Brisbane artists – many still students at the Queensland College of Art – with 90% of the purchase price on any original artwork going directly to the artist. All artworks are vetted for quality craftsmanship, and we do not sell anything without sighting, testing and adoring the products ourselves.
- What's this yradier anyway?
- yradier is a small business based in Brisbane, Australia, owned and run by Paloma, a photography student at the Queensland College of Art. She is surrounded by amazing artists who often do not have the money to put on exhibitions to sell their work and get their name out there. yradier has an emphasis on supporting emerging Australian artists and designers, but we also specialize in the hard to find and quirky from overseas. We believe in a fair price for the creator but also for the customer, and we want you to love our goods as much as we do. We are always adding adding adding new things so please drop by regularly.
- What currency do you use?
- All product prices and shipping costs are in Australian Dollars (AUD). If you are not located in Australia, PayPal will automatically convert your total amount (including shipping costs) into your local currency during checkout.
- Do you accept direct debit?
- Yes, we accept direct debit payments from all Australian customers. Send us an email with the items you wish to purchase, and your delivery address, and we will send you an invoice with yradier’s bank details. Orders will be shipped as soon as payment is received (this stands for all methods of payment).
- Do you provide framing options?
- In short: No.
This is because framing increases shipping costs monumentally, and we could not guarantee that glass and the frame would not arrive undamaged.
Framing also increases the time it would take to get your order to you. We also don’t know your personal aesthetic and would rather leave it up to you so you can get it just right! - How do you calculate postage costs?
- Postage costs are calculated individually on each item.
For delivery within Australia, all items except for canvases and other such delicate/heavy pieces are sent by regular post, with an estimated delivery time of five business days. If you want your order to be sent by registered post, please contact us before you check out so we can organize this for you. We will not do this if you have already completed your purchase via PayPal.
Shipping costs to New Zealand, the United Kingdom and the United States are listed for each item on our site. All overseas orders are sent via airmail, with an estimated delivery time of three to ten business days. Please be aware that yradier does not pay any customs charges incurred upon your orders entry into your country – these are your responsibility.
Please also note that we do not take responsibility in the unlikely event of lost mail or damages by Australia Post or their overseas partners. We are more than happy to organize postal insurance if you wish, please contact us before you check out.
- How do you calculate courier costs?
- All canvases and other such bulky/fragile/valuable art pieces are sent via courier (we recommend Pack Send, who specialize in packing and transporting artworks securely) to ensure your artwork/s arrive safe and undamaged. In the interest of fairness, courier charges are calculated specifically for you, so please shoot us an email before you check out so we can give you an accurate quote. If you do not do this, you will automatically be charged an inflated rate.
Brisbanites please note that we are happy to personally deliver to cut down on your delivery costs. Please indicate your preference in your email.
Overseas customers: yes we do send artworks overseas! Please follow the above procedure to be charged correctly.
- I live in a country other than Australia, New Zealand, America or the United Kingdom
- We are very happy to deliver countries other than those above. However we normally only include postage costs for those locations due to the time it takes to individually calculate postage costs for each item. (Yes we do do this for each and every item!) Please contact us with the name of the item/s you wish to purchase and your country and we will happily calculate those shipping costs for you.
- What is your privacy policy?
- Our privacy policy is very simple: we do not collect or store information on any of our customers. And as PayPal processes all payments, we never even see your credit card or account details.
- I want to commission one of your artists to create a work for me, how can I get in contact with them?
- Please go to our contact page and give us as much detail as possible. Tell us: your name; where you are based; what kind of work you are looking for; the amount of input you desire; the medium you prefer; your best contact number along with anything else you think would be useful. We will pass all this information on to the artist and provide you with their contact details if they are interested (which they probably will be!).
- How do I pronounce yradier?
- yradier is pronounced irre-dear. Yes it’s a strange one but we like it!

- What forms of payment do you accept?

We gladly accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, or regular account payments all through PayPal.
- How secure is this store?

This store uses PayPal for payments, and PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available).
- Do I need a PayPal account to purchase from this store?

No, you are not required to have a PayPal account to purchase from this store. Although if you already have a PayPal account you may use it.
